Hans Ritschard was born in Rüschlikon, February 1956. After a two year scholarship in San Francisco US, he completed his architectural studies at the ETH Zurich with the diploma in 1986. After periods of studies with various well known architects, he opened 1988 his own studio. Since then, his work has been characterized by the pursuit of simple and transparent spaces, which can be summarized under the term "natural minimalism". After projects in Switzerland and Germany, Hans Ritschard enlarged his education and passed the examination to become a US Florida State General Contractor in 1992.

In the following years, he designed and realized residential and industrial projects on the west coast of Florida, including urban planning for the development of "Down Town Sarasota". From 1998 he held important mandates in global companies:

          - Head Corporate Real Estate Switzerland Citigroup

          - Director Corporate Real Estate CB Richard Ellis

          - Real Estate Manager Kuehne + Nagel

These tasks gave him an in depth insight into the requirements of users and the real estate market. This reflects in the ecologically and functionally matured projects.

Since 2019 HANS RITSCHARD ARCHITEKTEN AG has moved to Luzern. Focusing on Project Design and Development, it continues to actively deal with projects on a national and international scale, also participating in prestigious competitions.

Hans Ritschard served as a delegate of the SIA Zurich for several years. In 2016 he was one of the founders of the World Architecture Foundation.
